Calm down spelling bee champions. A CAFR rant for the Occupy Wall Street crowd! TheCorporationNation.com I’d like to introduce you to the billion and billion dollar “mutual funds” in California, called Commingled funds. These funds are in all states, with federal US CODE creating them through the state treasurer, and are usually called the Public or State Treasurer’s Investment Fund. Even as California claims to be broke, these funds are growing strong… making hundreds of millions or billions of dollars in investment returns. -Clint Richardson-

Mutual funds are very attractive investments. Investing and waiting for it to appreciate sounds very promising. Understanding its benefits and limitations can give you a more comprehensive glimpse of the unique and risky world of stocks and securities.

To be able to participate in mutual fund investing, you have to know the ins and outs. Before you make a purchase, you have to know what the key elements are. There are some great advantages and some setbacks with regards to the funds so let us see how it all works for you.

First, let us define what Mutual Funds are. This is a professionally managed kind of investment. This is a pool of money from numerous investors in order to buy stocks, bonds, financial instruments as well as securities.

The advantages:- These funds can be used for diversification. An investor can widen the scope of their portfolio even with small investments. In a single fund, an investor will already be investing in numerous securities and this method of spreading out the securities can help lower risks. Normally, one will buy several stocks that could reach up to thousands. If you do a concentrated purchase, it could increase the risks considerably since it is focused on limited stocks. If one of the stocks lose value, the other good ones can still offset that loss – The Mutual Funds are managed by professionals. The mutual fund manager is trained and experienced in managing stocks and they have the knowledge as to when the stocks should be bought or sold. With thousands of stocks, it is hard for the investors to manage these themselves. – Another great advantage of the Mutual Funds is that it requires minimum investments. You can purchase stocks at very low prices it all depends on where you get the stocks and how good they are. You can ask an expert as to how you can make a purchase and what legitimate measures and procedures need to be followed.

The disadvantages:- The funds do not have any guarantees. Unlike an account that you set with a bank, these funds could become worthless and lose value. These are also not insured and there are no guarantees. – There is also a limitation with diversification. As much as it limits the risks, there is also limitation with the home run if one single security dramatically increases in value. As much as you want all securities to appreciate in value, you cannot expect that and sometimes, numerous securities can get affected.

Understanding what these mutual funds are will give you a more solid idea of how to do investments and what it takes to make a solid one. It goes to show that even in business, there is a high percentage or probability of problems and uncertainties. It is therefore necessary to always to be aware and learn how the market is moving so that you can make the right decisions if ever you wish to participate in this kind of financial venture.

If you have tried to decrease your electricity costs and have become upset about the rates that utility organizations charge, you might want to consider getting the Tesla energy generator. The government has kept the Tesla generator blueprints a mystery for nearly a century, but now they are actually readily available to any person who can follow instructions and set up a piece of equipment using a number of electronic parts. Even people who have a low quantity of technological abilities can piece together a Tesla generator in several hours.

Using Tesla’s plan and following the directions in his book is particularly helpful in the present economic climate. For the sake of the planet, it is important to make an effort to decrease utility prices and petroleum dependence. The prices will continue to increase for energy generated through utility providers. Fuel costs are rising fast and setting new all-time heights. Any person who wants to lessen monthly bills can benefit from striving to decrease utility expenses.

For a very long time, everyone from environmentalists to political figures have talked about the many positive aspects of alternative energy. Yet, not many people have the funds to put in a solar energy device that is fit enough to supply a significant quantity of energy for a typical home. Setting up households to use controlled energy is a wise move, but many devices do not do enough to minimize utility costs with the exception of this Tesla energy device.

Other Free energy devices created by Tesla include solar panels and motors capable of running solely on energy created by magnets. The magnet motor can be constructed from products purchased at any local hardware store. This motor utilizes kinetic energy; a magnet motor generator essentially creates energy from the power of motion. By simply “using magnets”, enough energy can be created to run a lawnmower, run a refrigerator or even run a whole house.

In the most simple, non-technical terms, a Tesla free energy generator operates by gathering the power of the naturally sourced magnetic forces and using those forces to turn a generator to generate electrical power. The turbine can be described as group of tightly packed disks set parallel together enclosing a funnel through which a substance is allowed to pass inside a sealed holding chamber. The action creates energy that rotates a shaft that produces the electrical current for many different applications.

The Tesla generator plans are incredibly helpful in helping you to reduce your energy bills and save the environment all at once. The plans are supplied by means of a download that allows you to use the directions in only a few minutes and move toward decreasing your utility fees by a large percentage. The cash invested in the program or product is minimal and will quickly be replaced in the form of energy savings. Generating energy this way is free and also to being easy to do.

Question by Jonathan D: If my political party were real, would you support it?
Pretend I am running for president, would you vote for me? Why or why not? I’d peg myself as a social liberal and a right leaning economic moderate. I just want to get a feel for people’s positions on things and how my own views compare to others. Questions/Comments welcome.

Social positions:
-Take government out of marriage entirely, treat all legal unions as civil unions. If you want to go to a church and get married, do it and leave government out of it.
-Allow law-abiding citizens to bear arms, but reinstate the federal assault weapons ban
-Support a women’s right to choose and have easy access to birth control
-Legalization of all soft drugs; treat drug addiction as a medical problem, not a criminal one
-Outlaw the death penalty (not because of a moral opposition to it, but because the current system is broken and discriminatory)
-Increase border security and crack down on companies hiring illegal immigrants, but allow a path to citizenship
-Have a minimum social safety net (universal healthcare and social security)
-(Unsure) Mandate some type of volunteer, military, or foreign service after completion of high school for all citizens to promote civic involvement and national pride, using Germany, Switzerland, or Israel as a model.

Economic positions:
-Allow the government to go into debt during times of recession, but require a balanced budget otherwise.
-Strive to remove all trade tariffs and promote free trade
-Increase the capital gains tax and make income taxes more progressive to decrease the wealth gap (the largest since right before the great depression) and stop the increasing concentration of wealth at the very top
-Decrease corporate taxes to bring them in line with other developed countries and eliminate tax loopholes
-End all corporate subsidies (oil, farm, etc)
-End all alternative energy subsidies and enact a cap and trade or carbon tax to decrease carbon dioxide emissions. The market will decide what technology to adopt rather than the government pushing certain ones, like ethanol.

Foreign Policy:
-Remove all troops from Saudi Arabia immediately, and from the middle east entirely as soon as possible (Extremist Muslims probably would not hate us as much if we removed our troops from their holy land and stopped propping up a repressive dictatorship).
-Suspend all military aid to foreign countries (Yes, this includes Israel, they can take care of themselves).
-Strive for a two state solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict, with Jerusalem as a shared capital.
-Decrease or maintain current funding levels for the US Military. It should not be immune from the current cost-cutting measures and debates.

Current Events/Misc:
-Increase the debt ceiling as soon as possible to avoid default and maintain our credit rating. Decrease social security and medicare benefits and possibly increase the retirement age to deal with the deficit in the future. Leave discretionary spending near current levels for the foreseeable future.
-Increase funding for manned NASA missions to the Moon and Mars (The return on the space program far outweighs the cost).
-Increase investment in high speed rail for intercity travel over medium/short distances, not the whole country
-Fund/allow embryonic stem-cell research
-Increase NSF/scientific funding
-Promote nuclear power as a interim power source while moving from fossil fuels to renewable energy
-Make election day a national holiday

When one thinks of radiology, they often think of x-rays used to take an image of a patient with a broken bone or other ailment. While radiology can and has been applied in this field, it is by no means the only arena in which it can be used. In fact, there is a research facility Grenoble, France that is doing wonderful things with their sophisticated x-ray machine, and we have listed a few below. Although it may be too soon to invest now, what the future holds is truly remarkable.

1 . On point – While some x-rays can tell you where a break in a bone is, this one can actually pinpoint the location of atoms and molecules, making it a part x-ray, part microscope. It can also help scientists see how the particles are moving and how they behave with each other.

2 . History – The machine has been used to peek inside the fossils of ancient times without having to destroy them or compromise them in any way. They even found the outline of some ancient insects within the hollows of some trees.

3 . Nanoscience – Just because we can’t see what’s going on at the one-billionth of a meter level doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to see. However, x-rays are being developed and used to peer into the processes and functions that go on at the nanolevel. The ESRF has even done studies on nanoclusters and ZnO nanowires.

4 . But what about people – The x-ray also has applications for human health. Proteins are also another item that can be analyzed by these x-rays. This includes everything from how a disease works to how to perfect the drugs that work against them.

5 . Synchotron – This is the name of the technology used to create these amazing x-rays. In addition to The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, there are also other facilities in Spain, Germany, and the UK, as well as similar facilities in Japan and the U.S.

Chelsea Smith is a psychiatry student who writes for How to Become a Psychiatrist which helps others on the path to becoming a mental health professional.

Article by John Malloy

Alternative renewable energy source is indeed a favorite topic from all walks of life even now. whatever would it come from behind and grab for the earth in order to get away from organic remains of a previous time fuels and swap over to renewable energy? It takes more than willingness prior to pay for a Prius or to set up solar panels on your roof.

Air energy facts always begin with the renewable nature of the wind as a power source. Wind energy is a separate one of the alternative renewable energy resources and that is currently being utilized by common people who lack in order to cut down on their energy cost along with reliance on organic remains of a previous time fuels. Wind also yet is used to some extent for pumping water.

Solar power systems for camping are limited in addition to portable, but can achieve enough energy to run a limited heater or light bulb. Solar acquired by a backpack while hiking can regenerate a cell phone, camera, or iPod. limited solar power units will control appliances originated for apply in a vehicle.

Before investing in Alternative Energy Stocks, Know the material. By investment in alternative energy development along with producing, Iowa may effect many great things. Anyone all things considered financing in alternative energy stocks needs prior to consult with a financial advisor.

Green renewable energy resources are an culminating key over non-renewable resources as they are frequently replenished. The authenticity that nearly entirety of these power sources bear down or yet have blank greenhouse gas discharge could only be viewed as a benefit. That seedling would swap 40 million bushels of wheat into 100 million gallons of ethanol each year.

Cleanse energy sources build in the renewable energies as well as thermonuclear energy. clean energy sources that finish in less carbon emissions, are fast emerging as the most lucrative sources of “carbon financing” in the nature. Based on an analysis by SADC, a total of 19,000 Megawatts (MW) worth of generation projects can be commissioned under the CDM in the territory.

Green electricity markets have been developed in recent years in several European countries including Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, in addition to the United Kingdom. In fact, there is scarcely any other choice at everybody when you call in that the alternative is in order to run out of fuel altogether plus end up living a far furthermore menial and an impoverished existence.

The purpose is prior to fund the development of long term sustainability investment at NSCC as well as the initial?installations of an Alternative Energy Demonstration Laboratory on the NSCC campus. Nearly 90 percent of the world’s energy comes from specimen fuels. This certificate program will supply students with an understanding of energy uses, the current as well as future alternative energy options, as well as the tools for evaluation.

automation cannot substitute for required organic resources such as food, forests, land, water, energy, and biodiversity. technology designed in Canada uses almost no outside power to achieve conversion of bio-solids as well as organic matter into clean green renewable energy. ITA has an aggressive green science promotion program with over 90 trade events planned general for this calendar year and 2010.

Alternative renewable energy is also a better option than fossil fuels because no green house gases are released during the energy producing process. What would it take for the planet prior to get away from organic remains of a previous time fuels in addition to turn over to renewable energy? It takes more than willingness to buy a Prius or prior to fix up solar panels on your covering. A lot of us are experimenting on alternative renewable energy sources which are sustainable over time.

China’s Attempt to Balance the Environment and a Rapidly Growing Economy Drives Regulation, Innovation and Investment in Renewable Energy, Water Industry and Healthcare

July 2006, China-AsiaStocks.com

With China’s growth at double digit rates into the first half of the year, the environmental concerns and pollution problems are escalating as quickly as the economy, with an estimated 76 reported pollution incidents in the past 8 months. The impact of rapid industrialization has created massive environmental problems in the water air and soil, creating disease and multiple health problems for people living in the affected areas. China is working to create and restore balance and harmony in their environment through pending law, regulation, and investment in new technology. Public companies Vitasti, Inc. (OTCBB: VITS), CECO Environmental Corp (NASDAQ:CECE), Hendrx Corp (OTCBB: HDRX) and Bridgetech Holdings International, Inc. (OTC.PK: BGTH); in renewable energy, air and water treatment and healthcare discuss how the serious problem of pollution has created business opportunities for their respective sectors. The All China Environment Federation (ACEF) was launched in Beijing in 2005, receiving backing from high-level government officials as part of a movement to show that China is becoming very serious about the environmental damage and repercussions of the rapid economic growth. It’s receiving global support as evidenced by The World Bank loan of 8 million to the People’s Republic of China to support projects to address environmental problems and developing transport infrastructure. China may be positioning to change its global image from environmental disasters to an environmental leader, as it was recently recognized as the world leading investor in renewable energy. In order to pave the road to change, China is changing policy and legal framework to incite investment and innovation in technology.

Renewable Energy; Regulation and Investment Driving the Sector

China has set a target of twenty percent of its power to come from renewable sources by 2020. That kind of aggressive strategy sets the stage for renewable energy companies to participate in the anticipated growth in wind, solar and energy efficient technologies.

Wind energy technology is on the rise and China’s largest wind electric power generator manufacturer, Goldwind Science and Technology Co. Ltd., is currently pursuing a U.S. IPO, following on the tracks of several renewable IPO’s. The company plans to go public to finance its anticipated substantial growth as China demands green energy solutions as evidenced by its 6 billion U.S. investment in renewable energy in 2005.

Vitasti, Inc.’s (OTCBB: VITS)Director, Mr. deDelley, a wind farm developer targeting China commented ” The stage is set to provide environmentally friendly power to fulfill the needs of a electrically thirsty nation and stave the pollution associated with the massive developments China is experiencing. Our Company, Vitasti/Welwind,has been moving projects ahead to develop 1000 megawatts of wind powered generation along the coast of the south China sea. All levels of government and industry are accepting the wind technology with great enthusiasm and willingness, making our work easier. ”

Mr. deDelley went on to state” With the political and industry relationships Welwind has forged within China we are looking at continued support to advance the projects and to ensure successful wind farms, creation of rural employment, mitigation of pollution, and provide a greatly needed commodity : wind powered electricity.”

Chinese officials have announced plans for the country’s first energy “basic law” passed by the legislature in two years with a goal of reducing national energy consumption by 20 percent from 2006 to 2010 and creating an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly society. The law would encourage domestic energy exploration and international energy cooperation, optimize energy reserves and emergency response systems, scaling and development of renewable and new energies and enhance energy efficiency.

The China Environment Fund, http://www.cefund.com/, a leading VC fund in sustainable investment in China is investing in energy efficiency, solar and bio-diesel.

China’s Water and Air Pollution and Solutions

Recent news in China including the toxic spill into the Desha River have made China’s officials and global leaders take action into addressing the urgent environmental and water issues. It’s currently estimated that 300 million people, representing one-quarter the population, drink unsafe, water. Additionally, only one third of the 3.7 billion tons of wastewater discharged is treated.

China is taking steps to create law and regulation to address critical water issues including recently ratifying an international treaty to preserve the marine environment and prevent pollution on the high seas.

Global funding to address water problems has been approved by the World Bank. The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors recently announced loans of 8 million to the People’s Republic of China in support of four projects to address environmental problems including water treatment and waste treatment.

Hendrx Corp (OTCBB: HDRX), a manufacturer of water purification technology with operations in China describes, “Senior management of our company is evaluating our current capabilities and seeking complimentary engineering, service and reporting capabilities to remedy and prevent future occurrences that will harm the environment. Our objective is to use computer age technology and instant monitoring of contributing factors that may predict future weaknesses and thereby enabling operating management to implement the appropriate safety measures.”

According to a Hendrx spokesperson, “In as much as the regulatory agencies have not yet begun to create the inquiries, we expect that we will be able and ready to respond to such inquires as they are forthcoming. Realistically, we don’t expect any one entity to be selected to find a solution to the different challenges; rather we expect to be part of a team that will over time solve the total problem.”

“Hendrx is in a unique position to be optimistic about our chances to be part of the “problem- solving team” because we already have more than 200 employees in the Fujian province of China. Our technical know how and our reputation is well respected on both sides of the Pacific.”

In terms of air pollution, according to a 2006 report by the World Watch Institute, China is home to 16 of the 20 cities with the most polluted air in the world.

According to Phillip DeZwirek, Chairman & CEO of CECO Environmental (NASDAQ: CECE), a world leader in clean air solutions, “CECO Environmental is the largest independent air pollution control company in N.A. and having been in business since 1907 has established a customer base of over 2000 companies including most of the Fortune 500. As many of our customers have established manufacturing operations in China they imported our technology and expertise into their Chinese facilities. Chinese based companies recognized the multiple benefits that CECO’s environmental installations brought to these new U.S. owned factories and are now hiring CECO to solve their environmental challenges. The market for air pollution control systems in China is vast and with the imminence of the 2008 Olympics plus the pollution potential from the rapidly expanding Chinese economy the demand for all methods of pollution control is and will be enormous.”

Healthcare – The Impact of Air and Water Pollution on Human Health

If you survey any average person on the street that saw Julia Roberts play Erin Brockovich, they can make the instant connection that industrial water pollution can cause multiple forms of cancer. It’s no different in China, but the problem is multiplied beyond anything North America has experienced. Last November, for example, a factory explosion resulted in benzene, a cancer-causing chemical linked to forms of leukemia, to run into the Songhua River, effecting millions of people in northeast China. More recently, the Dasha River was contaminated when a truck overturned dumping in 60 tons of potentially carcinogenic coal tar.

According to a 2006 report by the World Watch Institute, (http://www.worldwatch.org/node/3881), “a Chinese research institute found that 400,000 premature deaths are caused every year in China by diseases linked to air pollution.”

Bridgetech Holdings International, Inc (BGTH:OTCBB), a medical and healthcare company sees China’s environmental situation creating a major impact on the country’s healthcare, as well as influencing the product mix their company is bringing to the Chinese market.

According to Michael Chermak, Bridgetech’s Chairman & CEO, “Over the near term Bridgetech will specialize in introducing oncology products. This is a direct response to the fact that China is experiencing dramatic changes in the types of cancer and in the overall cancer incident rate. This rate is growing at the unprecedented pace of 3.3 percent per year. The environmental problems associated with rapid industrialization, like coal fired power plants, certainly contribute to this high growth rate. The growth of cancer has affected women most severely. In the last fifteen years the incident rate for women has grown from 89 per 100,000 women to 138 per 100,000. For men it is now at 200, up from 148. “

At present, Bridgetech is very encouraged by developments in China’s regulatory system. The government’s moves to protect intellectual property and to stem the favoritism and traditional practices in China’s product distribution system hold much promise for Bridgetech’s future because they will allow the company to introduce the very best in foreign technology with less fear that technology might be unfairly appropriated and because the company will be able to apply professional business practices to more effectively distribute its products throughout China. Faced by the demands of a evolving healthcare system and challenged by sudden changes in the nation’s epidemiological profile, China’s State Food and Drug Administration recognizes the need to supplement its domestic pharmaceutical industry with foreign medications and is proving a fast track to approval for medications that have undergone the approval process of other regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This is another positive development for Bridgetech because these are exactly the types of medications the company is seeking approval for.

The Ultimate Goal

We often hear and use the expression “follow the money” to watch and understand industry trends. In China, it’s a case of “smell the water and the air” to understand what is needed and where the money should be going in China.

Ironically, information on disasters and health crises may not always be available to the public if the Chinese government has its way, based on newly drafted legislation that will allow them to fine newspapers up to ,000 if they report on these types of emergencies without first getting permission.

But we won’t be in the dark completely if renewable energy companies like Vitasti have their way. As Vitasti, Inc states, “The country knows that it cannot proceed with the economic development and ignore the environment in future growth”

Consumers in China are readily embracing the environmental movement as evidenced by recent info released by Greenpeace International stating that their surveys showed Chinese consumers were prepared to pay more for environmentally friendly PCs than any other country. It’s a step towards the ultimate goal of creating balance and harmony with technology and the environment.

The environmental race is one that China cannot afford to loose and based on recent news, they are making serious efforts to repair the damage of the past and find solutions for the future. The question remains – are they moving fast enough? The outcome of the balancing act of managing rapid economic growth and the environmental concerns will impact the world for generations to come as the pollution moves outside of China’s borders.

Question by Hoya Saxa: What Fidelity mutual funds can you recommened?
(keep in mind this is for an IRA)
I bought Fidelity Select Energy (FSENX) back in January of this year, and im not happy with it.

I’ve been looking at Fidelity Select Chemicals (FSCHX)..do you think this is a good fund for the future?

What other funds can you recommend for for mildly aggressive approach (similar to the Fid Contrafund (FCNTX)?

Thanks!
Yes, of course this (sector fund) isn’t my only holding…
Yes, thanks I am well aware of asset allocation/disverifcation

Best answer:

Answer by Common Sense
If you have to ask what funds to invest in… you should not be in sector funds.

Sector funds are incredibly aggressive. They’re excellent for the highly knowledgeable investor & nuts for anyone else. You’ll make a lot of money in them & get killed by them. You won’t know when to get in or out. They should also never be used for more than 10% (all of them together) of your portfolio. Do you have an “asset allocation” plan?

Read:
Mutual Funds For Dummies (because….. it’s important you do this right)

BTW: Asking strangers for specific funds to invest in is worse than investing in sector funds.

Question by STEWIE: Are Republicans so desperate that they’re trying to pin Solyndra on Obama?
Republicans trying to turn this in to Obama’s whitewater… but facts suggests this was Bush’s!

It’s often claimed that the Solyndra loan guarantee was “rushed through” by the Obama administration for political reasons. In fact, the Solyndra loan guarantee was a multi-year process that the Bush administration launched in 2007.

You’d never know from the media coverage that:

The Bush team tried to conditionally approve the Solyndra loan just before President Obama took office.

The company’s backers included private investors who had diverse political interests.

The loan comprises just 1.3 percent of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) overall loan portfolio. To date, Solyndra is the only loan that’s known to be troubled.
————————————————————————————————————————————-
May 2005: Just as a global silicon shortage begins driving up prices of solar photovoltaics, Solyndra is founded to provide a cost-competitive alternative to silicon-based panels.

July 2005: The Bush administration signs the Energy Policy Act of 2005 into law, creating the 1703 loan guarantee program.

February 2006 – October 2006: In February, Solyndra raises its first round of venture financing, worth $ 10.6 million from CMEA Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and U.S. Venture Partners. In October, Argonaut Venture Capital, an investment arm of George Kaiser, invests $ 17 million into Solyndra. Madrone Capital Partners, an investment arm of the Walton family, invests $ 7 million. Those investments are part of a $ 78.2 million fund.

December 2006: Solyndra applies for a loan guarantee under the 1703 program.

Late 2007: Loan guarantee program is funded. Solyndra was one of 16 clean-tech companies deemed ready to move forward in the due diligence process. The Bush administration DOE moves forward to develop a conditional commitment.

October 2008: Then Solyndra CEO Chris Gronet touted reasons for building in Silicon Valley and noted that the “company’s second factory also will be built in Fremont, since a Department of Energy loan guarantee mandates a U.S. location.”

November 2008: Silicon prices remain very high on the spot market, making non-silicon based thin film technologies like Solyndra’s very attractive to investors. Solyndra also benefits from having very low installation costs. The company raises $ 144 million from ten different venture investors, including the Walton-family run Madrone Capital Partners. This brings total private investment to more than $ 450 million to date.

January 2009: In an effort to show it has done something to support renewable energy, the Bush administration tries to take Solyndra before a DOE credit review committee just one day before President Obama is inaugurated. The committee, consisting of career civil servants with financial expertise, remands the loan back to DOE because it wasn’t ready for conditional commitment.

Article by Marcus Abreu

In order to understand how you can make hard cash you need to first pick up what are the different ways to make money and what makes the difference between those that hard cash seem to flow to and the ones that always seem to work like a dog. But if I can quote GI Joe- “Knowing is half the battle!” There are several ways that you can make money. I have seen it stated in many different ways but the most excellent is in Robert Kiyosaki’s book Cash Flow Quadrant. He separates folks into four general quadrants with Employee and Self employed on the left hand side of a cross and Business owner and investors on the right hand side of a cross.

So lets divide the people in the way Robert sees them just as a matter of ease.

1. Employee- This quadrant is pretty self explanatory. These are people that work for a living, for the most part these are the worker bees. The folks that go to school to get a good job so that they can get a good pension and retire comfortable. The challenge here is that for most folks this will not be their payoff. There will always be more month at the end of the hard cash. Many of the folks in this quadrant when in financial predicament believe that the way to fix it is to either work more hours, get another job, or go back to school to get a better carrier. Einstein’s quote fits beautifully in this context “We cant solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

This is the main thinking that all of schools are based on. Even schools as Harvard Business School most folks graduate to be high paid employes. The sad thing is that these folks work just as hard as those that are very well-to-do they just see the world differently.

2. Self Employed- this is the next group of people. This one is a little more subtle, because many people that maintain that they are small business owners are in reality self employed. Here you have the “work until you drop” retirement plan. Although I have seen many comfortable people in this quadrant the price they pay is very high. The majority of “millionaires next door” seem to lie in this quadrant, according to Thomas J. Stanley and William Danko. These are usually professionals such as lawyers, doctors, bankers. If they know how to handle their cash and with a little good fortune they can end up as investors and get out of the rat race. Interestingly for the most part they end up laboring well beyond the age of 65.

3. Business owner- This quadrant is the first quadrant in which the bona fide wealth lies. I’ve heard but I can’t prove it with fact that- 3 out of 4 of the richest people in the world are business owners. But not just small businesses, but in big business. These are people that work ON their business and not IN their business as Micheal Gerber would state. These are not usually small business owners. These are folks that if they left their establishment for a month the corporation can continue growing. Unlike the small industry owner or self employed where the business is dependent on them, the big trade owner has created an entity that is independent. Being in this group usually means having to deal with specialized knowledge. Very few people will be able to make it in this quadrant it requires a mentality that most folks don’t have. But these folks can make the most of leveraging other peoples time and efforts. Just think of corporations such as Microsoft and franchises like McDonald’s.

4. Investor- this is the other quadrant where treasure resides. This quadrant is great but you need to learn how to invest. Investments such as real estate, silver and gold and the stock market. These are not to be confused with the people that purchase mutual funds and 401k hoping that they will have a retirement. These are the people that realize that they need to be actively involved in their financial future and find the right people to guide them to that end. They take personal responsibility for their investment decisions.

The goal of Robert’s quadrant is to simplify the concept of where you want to be in order to make the most hard cash. The goal is to transition from employee and self employed to business owner and investor. I think that Network Marketing allows you to be able to run a business in which you don’t have to know how to hire and fire. You don’t have to deal with workman’s comp, social security, and all the other headaches that come along from owning a big business. You don’t have to have specialized knowledge or large reserves of cash to get started. It is a multi-million dollar business that when set up properly you can leave for a month or a year and still get paid. Network Marketing is a business where you can take advantage of the same things the big business owners take advantage of such as leverage. And still have a simple business. Awesome, right!!

Where are you and where do you want to be? Are you an employee or self employed, are you a business owner or investor? What is the easiest most productive way to become a business owner or investor? Realize that not everyone that starts their network marketing business will be successful. Possible failure is the payoff of any business or profession. I do suspect that most folks will fail at any endeavor, it is life. It seems like the 80/20 rule is universal, sometimes 90/10.

Article by Michelle Bery

When in 2005 the federal Production Tax Credits (PTC) for companies producing renewable power was renewed, it sent a message far and wide that the renewable energy industry was worth getting into, with the promise of profitability, energy efficiency, and social/environmental “good karma” all in one tidy package. The following are some of the latest ways we’ve seen this collective foray into renewable energies take shape.

The Workforce: Businesses are given tax credits for changing over their sources of electricity to certain renewable energies, steadily increasing the demand for workers in every area of the industry – from research and development to manufacturing to distribution to installation, service and support.

More and more states are taking the federal government’s lead and implementing their own public incentive programs and benefit funds to encourage greater renewable energy usage, with the same result. According to a report released by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, in the five years between 2001 and 2006 the voluntary demand for renewable energies increased a thousand-fold. The bottom line is as clear as sunlight – the renewable energy industry creates jobs.

The Corporations: General Electric, Whole Foods Market, Safeway, Starbucks, General Motors, Kinko’s, FedEx – these are but some of the world-leading companies that have made and continue to make an active and aggressive switch to renewable energies.

In the case of many companies, this comes in the form of purchasing renewable energy credits to supplant their local utility usage. In other cases, the forays into renewable power run deeper, producing their own biofuels, setting up their own wind farms, and investing in research and development into improved renewable energy technologies.

The Military: The Pentagon has ordered all branches of the U.S. military to curb energy use by 2% at all bases and facilities through pursuit of alternative power sources, including wind and solar energies.

The President: President Bush’s ranch, the Crawford Ranch, is equipped with all the latest and greatest in renewable energy resources and operates entirely off the grid.

The World: The Australian government has a stated objective of increasing the proportion of its total electricity production that comes from renewable energy sources by 78% by the year 2010. The United Kingdom’s goals are a bit more modest but praiseworthy nonetheless, shooting for 10% from only 3.6%, also by the year 2010.

The Future: An inventor by the name of Todd Livingstone has a patent currently pending on a technology to harness the power packed into lightning bolt, estimated at 11 gigawatts each. A Canadian engineer believes that his Atmospheric Vortex Engine is the way to tame a funnel cloud (also known as a tornado). The “Manchester Bobber” is a patented new device for harnessing the power of the up and down motion of waves.

Floating wind systems. Harnessing the power of differences in atmospheric pressure between geographically distant cities. Semi-transparent photovoltaic glass used as windows in office buildings. MIT’s self-described “Manhattan Project” for new, renewable sources of power. Installing devices in highway off-ramps that harness the power of vehicles braking. Generate biomass energy from trees downed in hurricanes.

And if we look further down the horizon, what else can we see? Maybe the next big thing will be Focus Fusion, a technology for producing new zero-emission power plants the size of gas stations. Maybe it’ll be Blackligh Power, a technology that harnesses power from particles called “hydrinos” which are even smaller than atoms of hydrogen. Or maybe it’ll be electromagnetic energy. Whatever renewable energy trends we have in store for us next, there is one thing we can all count on: as the demand for these types of renewable power sources continues its steady rise, funding for research and development into new and better ways of harnessing renewable energy will also increase, leading to more efficient and affordable energy alternatives for us all.

Article by Alexander Green, Chairman, Investment U

When those of us on The Oxford Club’s Fall Foliage Tour – aboard the Crystal Symphony – reached Bar Harbor, Maine last week, the bright colors came to an abrupt end. At least, temporarily.

The weather was so nasty – and the water so rough – the tenders couldn’t take us ashore. It was just a cold, grey, wet, rainy day. The perfect day for a book, in other words.

So I spent the afternoon perusing money manager Ken Fisher’s new book “The 10 Roads to Riches.”

According to Fisher, a member of the Forbes 400, there are only 10 ways to get rich. (This is after discounting things you can’t control like a lottery win or a big inheritance.)

10 Roads to Riches

Here are Ken Fisher’s 10 roads to riches:

Start a successful business. This is the richest road. Prime examples are Bill Gates, Charles Schwab, Sam Walton, Larry Ellison and Michael Bloomberg. Of course, you’re unlikely to do nearly as well as any of these men. But that isn’t necessary. With enough time and effort, you can get plenty rich filling a need for a local product or service in your hometown. (That includes starting a plumbing business or putting braces on kids.)Become CEO of an existing firm and juice it. This was the method for Jack Welch, Steve Balmer and others. This requires a lot of years of experience – and generally a lot of loyalty to one company. But if you have the drive and ambition, the salary and option compensation can make it well worth your while.Hitch your wagon to a star. This method involves tying your fortunes to a successful business visionary. Charlie Munger did with Warren Buffett, Jeffrey Skoll with Jerry Yang, and Peter Chernin with Rupert Murdoch. This is a tough one though. You have to recognize a visionary early, offer him something of value and stick with him. Not easily done.Turn celebrity into wealth. We all know that celebrities are loaded. But unless you’re a world-class athlete, a terrific singer/songwriter or have Lana Turner’s profile, you should probably give this one a pass.Marry well – really, really well. This seems shallow, I know, but a 2007 Wall Street Journal poll found that two-thirds of women said they’d be “very” or “extremely willing” to marry for money. Half of men surveyed said they’d marry for money, too. Who’d have thought? (Also, expect a prenup.)Steal it, legally. Some people think plaintiff’s lawyers are crusading saviors. Fisher sees them as bloodsucking leeches and extortion artists. (He quotes the age-old Mexican curse: May your life be full of lawyers.) But if you can handle law school and pass the bar, this method is a possibility.Use other people’s money. This is the most common road for the ultra-wealthy. Managing other people’s money is how bankers, brokers, insurance companies, mutual fund managers, hedge fund managers and personal money managers like Ken Fisher make their millions. (Whether their clients are getting what they pay for is another story entirely, one I cover in my new book “The Gone Fishin’ Portfolio.”)Invent an endless future revenue stream. In this scenario, you create something – a book, a movie, a Broadway play – and find a way for it to create long-term royalties. This, admittedly, is a long shot. If you’re going to try this path, says Fisher, “Think lunch boxes.” Products that end up on lunch boxes – Spiderman, Star Wars, etc. – are the really big moneymakers.Monetize unrealized real estate wealth. Millions of Americans have gotten rich in real estate. And many will in the future. But Fisher says skip the idea of flipping houses and condos – the transaction costs alone will kill you – and concentrate on good properties in desirable areas with predictable cash flows.Take the Road More Traveled. This is the method we focus on here at Investment U. It’s about maximizing your income, controlling your outgo, religiously saving the difference and then managing your investment portfolio intelligently.

The Classic Way To Riches For Everyday People

The Road More Traveled is the classic way for everyday people to get rich. Most of us don’t have the time, the capital or the expertise to found and run our own business. But we can always use the stock market – the quintessence of capitalism – to become business owners.

This takes time and discipline. But it is the surest way to long-term wealth.

This is not the route for high-paid professionals only, incidentally. Fisher’s firm doesn’t accept accounts starting at less than 0,000. But he has plenty of former middle-class workers as clients.

Fisher writes, “If your passion is truly social work, teaching kindergarten, or quilting – fine. Then focus on frugality. It can be done! I have clients who were postal carriers, teachers, cops, etc. They did it. Frugal!”

How is this possible? There is no magic. These people live beneath their means and save.

“Skip mocha-caramel-triple-lattes,” says Fisher. “Pay off credit card debt. Avoid designer labels. Buy used cars. Eat in more, out less. Total no-brainers. Yet some can’t do this – just can’t.”

If you can, great. If you can’t, Fisher warns, you better find a higher paying job.

In other words, see 1-9.

Good investing,

5 Green Chip Stocks to Buy While They’re Cheap

A doctor walks into an examining room and tells his patient that he has some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that his tests show he has 24 hours to live.

The patient asks, “What’s the bad news?”

To which the doctor replies, “I meant to tell you about this yesterday.”

Timing is everything, my friends.

And while jokes about bad timing can certainly give you a good laugh, there’s nothing funny about it when you’re at the losing end of a poorly-timed trade…

I certainly got a dose of that bitter pill when I first began studying energy markets back in the early 1990s.

You see, the more I read and the more I learned, the more I was convinced that this very dangerous and unsustainable fossil fuel foundation on which our energy economy was built would ultimately leave us vulnerable to economic and environmental catastrophe.

There was no swaying my belief that alternative energy solutions were the only way by which we could avert disaster. So I began sharing what I had learned, and I also jumped on a few early alternative energy startups that, well, went belly up.

Now understand that these were not bad companies…

Management was always top-notch; the technology was about as advanced as it came back then; there was definitely some big money backing these operations. In fact, most of the guys I knew back then are now major players in the alternative energy industry.

But none of that mattered back then. Because, while it was obvious to me that we would not be able to quench our future thirst for energy with only conventional fossil fuel resources, no one else seemed to know it – or even cared to discuss it.

The fact is back in 1993-1994, you would’ve been hard-pressed to find more than a dozen investors who knew about peak oil, the liquidation of natural capital, or the billions in subsidies that have kept the fossil fuel machine purring for all these years.

You weren’t going to read about this stuff in Newsweek; you weren’t going to hear it from the major news organizations, and you know damn well the politicians weren’t going to bring it up.

But all that has changed. And today, there’s a wealth of data available for any investor willing to take the time to do the research. Not to mention, literally hundreds of alternative energy stocks to choose from.

Of course, there is one thing that hasn’t changed – and that’s the importance of timing.

Is the Timing Right for these Green Chips?

In 2009, timing allowed us to help a lot of investors make a lot of money. Especially in energy efficiency, where our Comverge (NASDAQ: COMV) play delivered gains in excess of 145.5%, and our EnerNOC (NASDAQ:ENOC) play finished the year with a gain of 321.07%.

But as the year came to close, I began cautioning against a market that was just getting too hot – especially considering the still very volatile global economy.

This is the reason editors Nick Hodge, Sam Hopkins, and I have only provided coverage on a few stocks so far this year.

Bottom line: The timing simply hasn’t been right for the kind of buying spree we witnessed last year after the market bottomed out.

But it’s getting pretty damn close again. Especially in solar, where an overreaction to a German feed-in tariff cut put additional downward pressure on a broader market-driven decline…

It was a double whammy that has pushed a number of quality solar stocks down to some pretty attractive levels.

Especially the Chinese players.

You see, while a cut in the German feed-in tariff (which is absolutely necessary if you want to avoid a massive bubble) will not make life easy for German manufacturers, the Chinese manufacturers – with their significant pricing advantages – will inevitably benefit from new market share.

The first half of this year will still be a bit bumpy. But by the end of the year, it will be many of these Chinese players profiting big time from Germany’s solar market – this, by the way, is not insignificant.

This is a very pro-solar country, representing about 50 percent of the global market for photovoltaics (oddly enough with nowhere near the solar potential as in the United States), a pro-solar government, and pro-solar banks with relatively deep pockets for financing.

So in an effort to capitalize on what is sure to be a continuation of China’s solar dominance going forward, we’re looking to pick up shares of the following Chinese solar stocks on major dips:

*Yingli Green Energy (NYSE: YGE) *JA Solar (NASDAQ: JASO) *Canadian Solar (NASDAW: CSIQ) *Suntech Power (NYSE: STP) *Trina Solar (NYSE: TSL)

At current levels, I have little doubt that these stocks will deliver gains of anywhere between 10 to 30 percent by summer – assuming the market doesn’t implode again. And for sake of clarification, I wouldn’t necessarily cross that off as a possibility, either.

Again, it’s all about timing.

But while it’s impossible to pinpoint the bottom with complete accuracy, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know a bargain when you see one.

And as we learned last year, those who are in it for the long haul – and can exercise a little patience – will be rewarded.

To a new way of life, and a new generation of wealth…

Jeff

When government spends more income, it necessarily diverts labor, capital and materials in the private sector. Exactly like promises come in the usa about green jobs creation, the heavily subsidized Danish program created 28,400 jobs. But this doesn’t, however, constitute the world wide web employment effect in the wind mill subsidy. In the long run, creating additional employment in a sector through subsidies will detract labor from other sectors, resulting in no increase in net employment but only inside a shift from your non subsidized sectors to the subsidized sector.Illinois is currently a national leader within the evolving and growing wind industry, said Brad Lystra, Manager of State Campaigns on the American Wind Energy Association. Their state has 25 manufacturing facilities, and also the industry employs over 5,000 workers. However, unless the legislature helps to make the necessary improvements the current policy, the near future success from the wind industry in Illinois will be severely hindered as a result of narrow scope in the state s RPS.In advocating for compressed air energy storage of wind power, company president Michael Marcus states that a disadvantage to a good intermittent source is the fact that supply is nonscheduled. As previously noted, the greater variability and uncertainty introduced by wind plants have been shown increase system operating costs by around about 5 MWH at wind penetration levels as much as 20 . The best point about this cost is from the uncertainty introduced into day ahead unit commitment due to the uncertainty in day ahead forecasts of realtime wind energy production. The Windmill extracts energy motionless air by slowing the wind, and transferring this harvested energy in to a spinning shaft, which usually turns an alternator or generator to produce electricity. The energy for sale in the wind that may be harvested depends upon two factors i.e. wind speed along with the area swept with the propeller blades.2. Buy Premade Windmill Blades Costs more but is a lot less workEuropeans, in comparison, are already producing usable energy with offshore wind since 1990, and therefore are already moving to develop massive offshore networks. According recent Financial Times article, a consortium of European companies is planning to intending to build an offshore super grid inside the North Sea, that they envision makes it possible to produce high volumes of offshore wind power, minimizing energy prices. Which comes for the heels of your December 2009 agreement by nine Europe, including France, Germany, Denmark and also the UK, to develop this kind of network. In the truly global nature of their business, Suzlon has generated a Group management center in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and manages its international marketing effort from Aarhus, Denmark, while runs its India operations from Pune, India. The company’s global spread reflects in their projects portfolio extending across Australia , Brazil , China, India, Italy , Portugal, The philipines along with the U . s . .These large companies can easily leverage their global presence to sustain the declining demand in the mature Western European wind power market and push into the growing markets of Eastern Europe, the U.S. and China. In August 2010, Siemens announced it secured wind turbine orders worth about 1.1 billion 700m inside the U.S. and China, while expanding its manufacturing facilities inside U.S., India and china. Big companies will also be more experienced in financing the capital intensive wind farm projects. Their global presence offers companies more flexibility to control the manufacturing operations such that the overall supply chain is much more efficient and price effective. In order to help the world and fight the existing energy crisis, invest in a wind power generator. The final session was titled Case Studies on Applications of Renewable power . The subsequent were the topics as well as the speakers. Innovative CDM Based Renewable Energy Projects Dr. Ram Babu of General Carbon Photovoltaic Pumping system for Landscape Irrigation Application Mr. Vilas Erande of Samved Energy Systems Waste to Energy Application Mr Soumya Bhattacharya, Concord BlueThere are both advantages and drawbacks to examine and development. Developing new services allows the organization to differentiate itself from competitors out there. Sun actively develops its own software, and for that reason, features a monopoly on providing profitable software support services. Additionally, proprietary research makes unified processor architectures including Sun’s SPARC processor family possible.Mingyang Wind Power was founded in 2006 which is located in Zhongshan, Guangdong province.Desire to is less to save power during the night to be used in the daytime rather than lessen the fluctuations in power from second to second, so they won’t restrict the stability from the island’s power company. While scrambling for green energy investments they can trumpet in news releases, penny stock investing operators invariably collide. It is exactly what happened in Plaquemines Parish, south of recent Orleans, where Earth Biofuels of Dallas last year announced intends to restart an alcohol refinery, closed since first ethanol boom went bust noisy . 1990s. Months later South ridge Enterprises, an onetime mining operation now within the ethanol business, said hello was buying 6 000 0000 price of equipment from your same plant to construct an unique 60 million gallon a year ethanol refinery. Its shares jumped 20 cents to a single.84 on the news.
